Von Ormy is a peaceful place to live and fulfilling location for businesses to thrive. Von Ormy is a 1.2 square mile city within a vibrant growing sector of the greater South-West Bexar County region. We are 16 miles from downtown San Antonio South along Interstate 35 near the intersection of State Highway 1604 and the Medina River, with significant opportunities for business investment and residential development.

The City of Von Ormy was incorporated in 2008 with the purpose and intent of allowing its citizens and businesses to achieve the American Dream of “Independence and Self Determination”. With this mindset, our policies and practices are geared towards providing a business-friendly environment while we attract win-win opportunities for both current, and future citizens.

Von Ormy has a rich history and culture dating back hundreds of years throughout Texas History. From times of being under the rule of Spain then Mexico, to the Texas War of Independence, reconstruction, the great depression, and many others of recent, represents a history of dedication, service, and generosity by the people of Von Ormy. Today we as a city encourage and welcome community growth and investment.

Von Ormy is within the Southwest ISD School District and within close distance of elementary, middle, and high school. Our community is serviced by Bexar County ESD 5 and the Von Ormy Police Department. We are home to churches, charity groups, and volunteer organizations who uplift our community on a regular basis. We have many local businesses including gas stations, restaurants, light industrial, auto related enterprises, trucking/transportation operations, manufactured housing, and a growing base of demand and opportunity for new businesses. Due to our proximity to massive regional growth, we have unmet demand for housing, retail, commercial, and industrial investment within our community.
